yanlış okumadınız v16 motor ve bmw :D 7kasa da goldfish firmasının hazırladığı bir motor şimdi öğrendim bende şaşırdım :D
he engine design virtually copies the BMW M70 V12 layout but with 4 more cylinders added.

v12 nin TT si var pek yürütememişler. bence başarısız motor yaw

yuruyen M70-71-73 motorlu bmw cok var.
Ek olarak bu aracda da DME 3.3 var ve motoru 8+8 silindir olarak 2 bolumde calistirabiliyor. Butun aksamlari faal bu aracin.

senin bahsettiğin v12 olan motordan çok var tabiki biliyorum :) hatta arkadaşım 5 kasaya swapladı 7.50 motorunu ancak v16 motoru ilk defa gördüm ne yalan söliyim :D v12 hoşuma gitmediği için hiç araştırmadım çok hantal motor
Tork canavari, cok devirli degil ama inanilmaz bir tork var :)

In current times, there is no brand that try to be a little greener. Whether Ferrari, the 599 Hybrid presented at the last Geneva Motor Show, or Honda, with the new CR-Z, most manufacturers have submitted a proposal with the intention of making them a bit greener. BMW is not immune to this trend with its Efficient Dynamics. In recent months we have seen that their engines have been shrinking gradually, as the new BMW M5, which have a bi-turbo V8 instead of the 5-liter V10, or M3, as next generation is already known staffed by a six-cylinder turbo-powered.
A few years ago, however, things were quite different. It was a time when producers were not afraid to try new things without fear of "they'll say." Today I want to talk about one of these cars, the result of a somewhat special project: the BMW 7 Series E32 "Goldfish" V16. As its name suggests, this series 7 teams a huge 16-cylinder engine and 6.7 liter. Crazy, creative Mentre result of three engineers from BMW: Karlhienz Lange, Adolf Fischer and Hanns-Peter Weisbarth.

These were the three people who were hiding behind the project "Secret Seven", three engineers who once had great influence in BMW. Lange was responsible for engine division, Fischer was in charge of the project department "secrets" and Weisbarth was very involved in the development of the E31 and E32 8 Series 7 Series. Among the works of Lange, highlighted the 5-liter V12 engine (internally called M70) that equates the flagship of Munich: BMW 750iL. Interested in seeing how far you could go with this type of mechanical Fischer Lange commissioned the development of a V16 engine. And this is how the project "Secret Seven" was born.
On Christmas Eve 1987, just six months after commissioning of Lange, Fischer already had a V16 engine ready for testing in the testbed. The figures were really spectacular (for the time): 6.7-liter, 408 horses and 461 Nm of torque. That was 100 hp and 100 Nm more than the M70 engine already fitted to the 750iL. Evidently, and as expected, add 4-cylinder engine already in itself was huge, had certain disadvantages. And one of them was obviously the space. The new engine was 30.48 inches long, which forced her to take drastic measures.

For BMW it was imporant that changes to the E32 be reduced to a minimum. Things like lengthening the body, for example, were they out any options. And of course, install an engine of that size in a standard E32 body involved to make certain important decisions .... The principal was to withdraw the entire cooling system, the engine compartment to the rear. That forced technicians to install two large air inlets for channeling the flow to the radiators located in the trunk, with a large air vent mounted in the space between the rear lights. Consequently, they had to reduce the size of the rear light, eliminating the fog lights and reversing.
Obviously, all these decisions just to condemn the few possibilities that this car had seen the light of day. And despite that, Lange and his two colleagues did not stop the project to get the car finished. Because. Because they wanted. And because they could.

The final version, mounted on a body of E32 finished in shades of gold (hence is also known as Goldfish) had a 6-manual gearbox from the BMW 850i. With such a mechanism, this special E32 was anything but "green": 20 liters per 100 km in town driving and 14 in highway driving, where Goldfish should feel right at home. The maximum speed was 281 km / h and could accelerate from 0 to 100 in 6 seconds exact. Not that they are very impressive figures today, but in 1987 were certainly unique in its genre.
Although Lange's intention was to create a Super 7 with the BMW V16 motor, BMW executives never gave him the green light. The engine also finished in no other car in the BMW range, and I do not do and, more so considering the times and Efficient Dynamics BMW prevailing today. However, projects like this one happy day, and we show that engineers at the forefront of big brands are not as corseted as we think. Do not forget, for example, the X5 BMW V12 LMR engine equating winning Le Mans in 1999, which appeared a decade later ...
