ome of the most powerful people in the world want to be driven around in the back of one. Although, for Audi, that presents a very specific and unique set of problems. An issue with having the most powerful people ride around in the back of your car is that your car then becomes a target to someone who wants to strip said person of their power, in a certain way.
Not to fear though, as Audi has made a version of its luxury sedan for just the situation. Meant to look like a run-of-the-mill A8 L (as much as there can be one) the High Security is built to the hilt with all sorts of armored materials. Hot-formed armored steel makes up a large majority of the car, with multi-layered polycarbonite-coated glass allowing the passengers to admire their surroundings, or see oncoming threats. In all, it means an additional 3000 pounds of heft to the car, but with Audi's 500-horsepower W12 being the only powerplant available, it should have no problem coping.
Inside, all is not so glum, though, with individually-adjusted rear seats, a TV tuner, and four-zone climate control standard, and a refrigerator and massaging seats as an option. No pricing has been announced yet, bur really, if you need one, do you really have to ask about the price?
