Nissan Juke-RA few days ago rumors surfaced the Internet about a possible Super Juke from Nissan and now we know for sure that the Japanese automaker is working on the most powerful variant of this model which will be called Juke-R. The car will be motivated by the same 480 hp twin-turbo V6 3.8-liter engine that powers the GT-R and will also borrow a modified version of the coupe’s four-wheel drive system along with its 6-speed transaxle.
Nissan says that this won’t be a production model as it is only a “one-off concept to test the public’s reaction to a seriously sporty Juke.” The regular version of the car is available with a choice of three engines: 1.6-liter and 1.6-liter gasoline units and a frugal 1.5-liter dCi turbodiesel.
The company mentioned that their plans are of rolling out two units of this Juke-R, one will have right-hand drive while the other will be left-hand drive. The cabin of the vehicle is expected to feature the LCD screen, dials and gauges from the GT-R, and although it will be entirely road-legal, the Juke-R will come with a competition-spec rollcage, five-point harnesses and twin race seats.
The development for the car hasn’t ended yet and it is expected to go into the testing phase next month. The Nissan Juke-R is being developed by RML, a motorsport preparation specialist in collaboration with the Nissan Technical Centre for Europe, located in Cranfield, Bedfordshire.
