It’s a good question and I do in fact suggest the Castrol Power 1 oils for use in cars from time to time where I think it’s the best option, such as older cars where a high viscosity oil is needed, or a racing application
As long as the manufacturers recommended specifications are met then I see no issues as the bike oils are extremely high performance.
I know a lot of Subaru guys use 10W-60 for racing, fuel dilution is the main reason for the higher viscosity as thicker oils will run a bit hotter anyway. I don’t see an issue with the EDGE 10W-60, although he is running pretty cool by the looks of it with 35C ambient, I assume he’s running aftermarket oil coolers. Max oil temp id want to see on a track s 130C. We test above this but it’s really starting to limit the film thickness protection
Knowing how Japanese turbo engines over fuel and seeing Evo 6 engines with 9% fuel dilution this would be one of the reasons of going safe with the 10W-60 as it helps combats this and is well proven in racing applications.
So that seems pretty clear that the 10W-60 is his favoured oil, and at the elevated temperatures the 10W-60 would offer a better viscosity especially for track days. I would suggest trying both and see what results you get, but for mostly road you may find the 10W-50 a better option ?
You could of course use 10W-60 for track days and change out for a thinner one for the road if you preferred that route as some do
Hope that’s useful
Kind regards
