The V40 gets a more premium look.
Volvo has announced the R-Design version of the V40 which is scheduled to make its first public appearance at the end of the month in Paris. It is distinguished by a silk-material framed high gloss grille with a different front bumper and daytime running lights. There’s also an ironstone diffuser, twin exhaust tailpipes and 17-inch (optional 18-inch available) five-spoke diamond-cut alloy wheels.
Inside the cabin of the Volvo V40 R-Design we find a TFT instrument display, sports pedals, sports steering wheel, aluminum inlays and embossed R-Design leather/T-Tec upholstery. Optional equipment includes cruise control, rain sensors, active bending xenon headlights, rear theater lightning and keyless start.
It is offered with the same array of engines as the regular V40, starting with the D2 diesel up to the T5 gasoline turbo with 254 HP (187 kW). Customers will have the possibility of opting from one of the six paint finishes available, along with the new Rebel Blue livery.
Volvo says that the price list will be announced at the beginning of October when they’ll also start taking orders, with the first deliveries being scheduled for January 2013.
