The XE loom is self contained and only requires connection to the following

Large Red - perm power direct to battery
Thin black (single pin connector to right of fuel rail) - accesory power, needs to be connected to a cranking live accesory (depending on the model, there is usualy one on the nova loom on the right of the engine bay, if not siply wire one from the fuse box.)
Blue and red - Fuel pump, this comes from the large relay and needs to supply the positive to the fuel pump.
Earth - this is handled by the earth strap that is on the gearbox, (the XE loom earths directly to the engine at each end of the fuel rail.)

Looking at the plug face on, the pins go:

38-55
20-37
1-19 (this is the row with two more pinholes than the other two)

I still haven't found what I was actually looking for in there though.

50 - TC input signal, ignition injection cutoff (funnily enough the Haynes diagrams show this not being connected to anything)
51 - Load reduction ignition retard from transmission control unit

53 - Signal lead, TC motor P34/Ter.3
54 - Output signal, TC motor for transmission control unit
55 - Diagnostic plug pin G (bidirectional data lead)

Wiring colours are as follows:

XE loom

Green - revcounter feed, wire to green on corsa plug (some corsas may not have this wire, in which case use a bullet connector and run a green wire to the rear of the clocks if you wish to fit a set with a revcounter.

Brown/Blue - ECU light, match to corsa plug

Brown/White - Diagnostics, match to corsa plug

Brown/Yellow - Diagnostics, match to corsa plug

Blue/red (thick) - Fuel pump feed, match to corsa plug

Blue - Coolant temp sensor feed for dash clocks, match to plug

Red/White - Autobox, unused in conversion

Red/Blue (thin) - electronic speedo feed, match to corsa plug

Red (large) - Battery +ve

Black (thin) - Battery ?ve I moved this inside and matched it to the corsa plug
Black/green - Aircon, unused in conversion
