The 2012 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe exudes a certain exuberance and design quality seen in much more expensive models despite being at the lower end of the spectrum in the German automaker's lineup. There’s definitely a sporting connotation to the design, with even some BMW styling cues thrown in.
Under the pretty sheet metal should be a host of new technological advancements, most of which will be shared with the latest C-Class Sedan. This should include new driver-assistance systems including Attention Assist, Adaptive Highbeam Assist, Park Assist with ParkTronic, Lane Keeping Assist and Blind Spot Assist.
The engine lineup should mirror that of its Sedan sibling, though the new four-cylinder engine in the C250 Sport may not make it into U.S.-delivered Coupes. This means that the base engine for the C-Class Coupe will likely be a 302 horsepower and 273 pound-feet of torque V-6. Further down the track, a high-performance AMG model with a twin-turbocharged 5.5-liter V-8 developing upwards of 500 horsepower should appear and beyond that there’s also likely to be an even more extreme Black Series model.
Stay tuned for an update once official details and images break.
