Debuts in Frankfurt
AC Schnitzer has revealed their new tuning packages for the BMW 1-Series M Coupe and 6-Series Cabrio.
The 1-Series M is outfitted with a carbon fiber front spoiler, a ventilated hood, a carbon fiber diffuser and a roof-mounted spoiler. To spruce up the cabin, AC adds "Valencia Orange" trim, aluminum accents, alloy pedals and velour floor mats.
In terms of performance, there's a race-tuned suspension, beefier brakes and a revised ECU. The latter item enables the engine to produce 400 PS (294 kW / 394 hp) and 560 Nm (413 lb-ft) of torque - an increase of 60 PS (44 kW / 59 hp) and 60 Nm (44 lb-ft). Thanks to the extra power, the car runs from 0-100 km/h in 4.7 seconds (standard 4.9 sec) and tops out at 300 km/h (186 mph).
On the other hand, the 650i has a new front spoiler, a revised grille, and a rear bumper insert. The company also offers an assortment of wheels in sizes from 19- to 21-inches.
Interior changes are minor, but include a sport steering, matte grey trim, an aluminum iDrive cover and special floor mats.
Under the hood, the tuner installs a revised ECU and a sport exhaust system. Thanks to these tweaks, the engine develops 540 PS (397 kW / 533 hp) and 750 Nm (553 lb-ft) of torque - an increase of 133 PS (97 kW / 131 hp) and 150 Nm (111 lb-ft). This enables the convertible to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 4.4 seconds (standard 5.0 sec) and hit a top speed of 310 km/h (193 mph).
